In a busy world where the pace of life feels impossible to keep up with, a slow beauty skincare approach can provide some peace. A holistic approach to skincare is a wonderful way to create moments of self-care with intention and mindfulness — where we can be truly present.
Light a scented candle, make a cup of tea and enjoy some slow beauty me time with two of our favourite skincare rituals.
Soak your worries away with a warm bath
For her self-care, there is nothing that our co-founder Tracy loves more than a warm bath at the end of the day. And if it's been one of those days, she adds an extra scoop of our Ativo Pink Coconut Milk Bath Soak to make it a spa experience.
Key ingredients that make our bath soak the star of a slow beauty routine:
- Pink Himalayan salt that is rich in minerals to soothe tired muscles; it also hydrates and detoxifies skin
- French pink clay that works with salt to relax your body
- Coconut milk to hydrate and create an indulgent experience
Add 2-3 scoops of the in a warm bath and soak for a minimum of 20 minutes. Follow with your favourite Ativo lotion.
Purge toxins and stressors with a mud mask
We love using our Glacial Mud Mask every 3-5 days to keep skin clear and radiant. With ingredients like BC glacial clay, evening primrose to help boost hydration and elasticity, and horsetail extract for antioxidant benefits, your skin will feel fresh and rejuvenated. Chamomile and lavender scent will help your worries drift away.
-
Apply a thin layer of mud mask to clean, dry skin.Avoid direct contact with eye & lip areas.
-
Let the mask sit for 10 -15 minutes until tacky and almost dry.
-
Rinse with warm water moving in a circular fashion. Be sure to not pull on the skin. Follow with your 3D Dew Drops and favourite moisturizer.
This mud mask is perfect for targeting breakouts — that always show up at times of stress! — and can also be used as a spot treatment.
A daily skincare ritual for your face is also a slow beauty routine that we love. Whatever your self-care, remember it doesn't have to be complicated or take a lot of time. It's time to open up our senses with moments of mindfulness. Slow beauty is a step towards prioritizing your health and wellbeing. Take some time to focus on YOU.
