Sensitive Skincare Routine

What’s the difference between sensitive and sensitized skin?

Sensitive skin refers to a skin type that is easily irritated or reactive which may result in redness, flaking, dryness, itching or burning or breakouts.

Sensitized skin refers to skin that is temporarily reactive as a result of coming in contact with something external and may have symptoms of flaking, itching and stinging.

 

How do we care for sensitive skin?

  1. Keep things simple. Having too many steps in your routine may irritate the skin and cause reaction.
  1. Handle with care. Be careful not to be heavy handed when handling the skin. Avoid heavy rubbing and tugging, instead be very gentle and light with the touch.
  1. Keep skin cool. Excessive heat can aggravate sensitive skin. Stick to lukewarm water to wash your face and avoid hot showers.
  1. Protect against pollution. Throughout the day pollution in the air can stick to your skin and damage your skin’s barrier. Over time, these particles can build up on the skin and lead to irritation. Cleanse twice a day to remove the dirt and impurities.
  1. Help your skin feel calm and clear by keeping hydration levels high. Moisturize twice a day to help balance your sensitive skin and drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. 

 

Sensitive skin routine steps:

AM

  1. Soothing Cream Cleanser - Gently lather onto damp skin with circular motions and rinse with lukewarm water or with a damp premium biodegradable towel.
  2. Vital C Brightening Toner - Spray over face and neck or spay onto cotton pad and swipe over face and neck.
  3. LOOK.AT.YOU Under Eye Serum- Gently roll under eyes 2-3 times from inner to outer corner. 
  4. 3D Dew Drops 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum - Massage a half dropper full onto damp face and neck.
  5. Restore Facial Cream- Massage a pea size amount evenly over face and neck.

PM
